How to Get Family Visit Visa in Saudi

An overseas worker in Saudi Arabia can invite his/her family under the benefited profession.(Can Check on MOFA ) They can apply a visit visa for  the following:

• mother
• father
• wife
• children
• sisters
• mother-in-law
• father-in-law

Documents required:

o    original valid iqama/muqeen of Saudi Arabia

o    copy of passport

o    passport copies of family members invited

How to apply:

o    Fill out the online application form found at Mofa website.

o    Choose the English translation of the page so you can understand the instructions.

o    You will be the kafeel or sponsor for the family members you are inviting so put your name as the kafeel on the form.

o    Click on individuals. Choose resident.

o    Click “Family Visit Visa Application”.

o    Fill the form and tick submit.

o    Print out the form.

To submit application:

o    On the printed application form put the date and sign it.

o    Have your sponsor stamp and sign on the form too.

o    Go to the Chamber of Commerce where your employer is registered and pay the visa application fee.

o    Receive the receipt or print out form. Keep it.

How to check application status online:

o    Go to MOFA website.

o    Choose application submitted to MOFA.

o    Enter your application number, iqama/muqeem number and image code.

o    Click inquires.

It may take a week or more to process the application, but longer during Ramadan or Hajj,  so you have to check on the status often.

Once approved, the Overseas worker must send a copy of the application or the number of application to the family member wherein they will have to continue processing it at the Saudi Embassy in the home country.

The family must pass the documents required, which includes original passport of visa applicant, iqama/muqeem copy of the Overseas worker, passport copy of the Oversease worker, and 4 pieces of passport size photos.

Additional documents needed:

o    For married sister - authorization letter from husband

o    For mother/father-in-law - marriage certificate and copy of passport and iqama/muqeem of wife

Remember:

o    Application may be rejected. Re-apply again.

o    You only have 3 months for the visa to be stamped, once approved by the Saudi Embassy.

o    Once stamped, the overseas worker’s family should travel within 3 months or visa will expire.

o    If the visa issued is for 90 days, it can be extended once more.

o    If the visa issued is for 30 days, it can be extended again 5 times.

How to get Driving License in Saudi Arabia

Before going to the License Office you need following things:

1. Original Iqamah. 

2. Photocopy of Iqama. 

3. Photocopy of Passport. 

4. Driving License of your country (if u don’t have any driving lenience than you will pay extra 435SR for 5 days school ) 

5. If expatriate, translation of foreign driving license in Arabic from an approved translation institute. 

6. Passport size photographs 

7. Medical report (Blood Group Test) 

8. License Fee (400 SR for 10 years and 200 SR for 5 years) pay it Riyadh bank/ATM for your iqama id and keep the voucher) 

 Getting driving license in Saudi Arabia has been made one of the easiest tasks as compared to past. It is a straight forward process which is as simple as you can expect. It doesn’t require too much money or illegal ways. Get your original non-Saudi driving license, and visit any of driving schools you are comfortable with. There are Arabic or Asian based guys wondering outside or just beside the school gate. If they are not there, check for any General Service shop. These agency shops are common and must exist beside every driving school. The most authenticated will be the one that is inside the school boundary. Visit them and ask them to fill out your form for driving license. They will request you for 6 personal photographs and your original Iqama (Saudi Arabian ID/work permit/residence card etc). Provide them both thing, They will ask a few more details like Blood group, mobile number, work-place, designation, sponsor name etc. In the past blood group must be checked at the spot but now more relaxation in the rules have been made. But now they only ask it from you and put the information on your behalf. After filling out the form they might ask you if you want to pay the driving license fee. I suggest not doing this because these agencies charge up to 50 SR more than actual amounts. Furthermore it is not a compulsory step done at spot. It can be done later via any bank account. If you feel comfortable paying extra money just submit the fee. These guys will charge you from 10 to 15 Saudi Riyals. These days Driving License Fee is categories into 2 level 

1. 5 Years Driving License = 200 SR 
2. 10 Years Driving License = 400 SR 

After that you go inside the Driving License Office and submit your form to related window. Once submitted they will guide you for further steps.
1. Number of Days You got to attend driving school. 
2. The Date when your driving classes will start. Also you have to pay the school fee that is (435 SR) currently(if u dont have a license from yours'own country). Then you have to join a training program of 5 or 15 days as per your grade which is based on Field Training at Vehicle and Class Room Training. Finally after completing training you will be given a Final Driving Test Date. Also you will be given a big printed paper that has all the road symbols, traffic signals, road signs etc. That is for your computer signals test. Remember all of them in your brain. Now join the driving classes on specified date, participate in field training at car, and ask questions from your instructor whatever you don’t understand. There is a class room training every day in which you will be given knowledge of road signs and signals. After successful completion of Driving classes, you will be given a final driving test date which is based on driving the car inside the school and a computer test. Representative from Driving School will check your driving skills. He might be in a uniform like police man but don’t be afraid of him. He is there just to monitor you, not to arrest you or beat you Upon your turn for evaluation test, be calm, enter in car, close the door, fasten your seat belt, check gasoline indicator in dashboard, clear hand brake and wait for instructions. The instructions normally come in Arabic Language, however if you don’t understand they monitoring person will repeat in English with the words (Start, Go, etc). Follow the instruction, don’t push the accelerator pedal too much, keep it between 1500 rpm to 2500 rpm, be alert, they monitoring person may any time ask for apply brake or take a sharp turn.
